I have no particular first-hand experience with minis. It always seemed to me to be an odd name -- why not call them ponies, since a pony IS a miniature horse? When I asked people why their (very small pony-like animal) wasn't just a little Shetland, I got things like "no, Shetlands are PONIES, mine is a Miniature HORSE). I have to say this did not clarify my understanding at all.
So, please to enlighten me . . .
Is "Miniature Horse" a name given to bred-down-in-size Shetland Ponies...
what is a mini? No, really!
